Rare-fish advice is useful only when it starts with the water you can reach. This page uses official badge names and refuses to manufacture a species list.

§A careful rarity route#
Read the label attached to the fish before deciding what to keep. The checked footage shows an EPIC rarity label, a separate GOLD modifier on another fish, and a Lionfish catch notification. These visible labels help identify what you are looking at; the frame does not establish drop odds, a complete rarity order, or a current sell-value table.
- Keep the first named catch that completes a badge goal before turning on aggressive selling.
- Use full casts and spend on Strength until the reachable water changes.
- Read the live shop for luck options only after distance is stable.
- Treat any community rarity order as a working guide, not a published drop table.
- If the label is new, pause Auto Sell or its equivalent until the catch is identified.
§What this site does not claim#
The checked official badge endpoint provides names and descriptions, while the public game description provides the distance and rarity relationship. It does not provide a full fish catalog, per-water drop rates, mutation odds, or exact sell values. Those fields stay unknown here.
§Exotic rarity: a dated official addition#
The September 6 official announcement adds Exotic rarity, five new Exotic fish to World 1 and four to World 2. It also names a Secret / Exotic hatch minigame and pull cutscene. These are historical update counts, with current species, exact odds and a complete rarity ordering still unverified.
When checking a catch, read its rarity label separately from its mutation. The reroll announcement discusses changing a caught fish mutation; it does not document upgrading rarity through a scroll.

What is the Deep Fishing rarity order?
The checked official badges confirm Legendary, Mythical, and Secret as named milestones. Community pages describe Common as the bulk baseline, but a complete official table was not available in this research pass.
Does a mutation make a fish Secret?
No official source says that. The badge list treats First Mutation and First Secret as separate achievements, so this guide treats mutation as a separate modifier.
Why am I not seeing a Secret?
Check reach and Strength before assuming a missing luck bonus. Exact Secret conditions and drop rates remain unverified.
